Paleo Restaurant Options

Eating Out

Eating out and adhering to eating Paleo can be a challenging feat.

Tips

If you get tired of salads like me, order a sandwich without the bread. I love a grilled chicken sandwich, minus the bun, with lettuce, tomato and bacon on top. There are many restaurants that have gluten-free menus. They might not be perfectly Paleo, but it gets you a little closer.

Here are some of my favorite meals that I eat when I’m on the go:

Panera

Chicken Hummus Power Bowl – minus the hummus. I ask for 2 packets of mayo for my “dressing”. It needs some sort of dressing without the hummus. I use Haan Safflower Mayo at home. Away I cheat a little because there is soybean oil.

Jimmy Johns

Order sandwiches as an “Un-wich”. They will wrap it in lettuce.

Grand Traverse Pie Company

Chicken Focaccia – swap the focaccia for gluten-free bread (bread is pretty close to paleo minus corn starch), no ranch, no swiss, add lettuce, add tomato

Chicken Cherry Salad

Logan’s Steakhouse

Gluten Free Chicken Breast with sweet potato as side (without toppings – I asked for just cinnamon, I think it was still cinnamon and sugar due to the taste). Sometimes I want to be like Buddy the Elf and go around with a small bottle of maple syrup to add just a tad to sweet potatoes. 🙂

Chipotle

Salad bowl with chicken, mild salsa, guacamole

Moes

Burrito Bowl – Chicken, tomato, lettuce, and guacamole

Big Boy

Grilled Chicken Sandwich – minus the bun, add bacon and side salad – no cheese, no croutons

Cheddars

Grilled Chicken Pecan Salad – no croutons, no cheese

Baby Back Ribs and side salad – no croutons, no cheese

Guido’s Pizza

Gluten-free pizza crust with your favorite yummy toppings – I love ham and pineapple, no cheese

Olive Garden

Chicken Skewer and asparagus

Texas Roadhouse

Steak (ask to hold the butter), Sweet Potato (hold the butter), side salad – no cheese or croutons

PF Changs

Gluten-Free Mongolian Beef

Gluten-Free Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Egg Drop Soup

Flourless Chocolate Cake (cheating a bit, but sooo tasty and it’s gluten-free)
